Warrior Dash Northeast 2011

Once again, I headed to Windham, NY this past Saturday to watch hundreds of mud lovers plow through 3.2 hellish miles. The voracious 12 obstacles course ingested 40 waves of “Dashers” during the weekend, leaving few prisoners. Did I think I would be running this year? Maybe. Did I chicken out? Most likely. I enjoyed taking pictures of these intrepid runners jumping over fire last year, knowing that I wouldn't have to nose-dive in a pool of muck a minute ... Continue Reading

Unicycle Race in Schenectady’s Central Park

I have a soft spot for unicycles. I remember my first job offer back in 2001, a position in a promising new IT company in Clifton Park. I couldn't pass on a business that advocated keeping carpal-tunnel at bay by way of yo-yo, juggling, and unicycles, could I? It turned out I have no balance, I left these acrobatics to more adventurous coworkers and practiced dodging pins and pedals diligently. Until 2004 and Rule 2, that is. “Rule 2: no ... It's the summer that keeps on giving. If you like mud, face paintings, mud, tire jumps, mud, cold water and more mud, there wasn't any better place to be than the Warrior Dash Northeast 2010 this weekend. Hundreds of people flocked to Windham, NY to brave the 13 obstacles laid out on this 3.23 mile course. Early birds got a chance to start at 9AM and be the first to face the dreaded mud pit. The ski resort chewed no ... Continue Reading

U.S. Water Ski Show Team in Scotia

Summer is almost coming to an end but there is still time to grab some fun-nuggets close to home. A few days ago I checked the U.S. Water Ski Show Team in Scotia, NY with some friends. This all-volunteer, non-profit, family oriented organization has been around for the past 40 years. They are performing throughout the summer months at their home base along the Mohawk River waterfront behind the iconic Jumpin’ Jacks Drive-In. That’s a combo right there. Bring a ... Freihofer’s Run for Women 2010

A few photos from the Freihofer's Run 2010, which took place a few days ago, Saturday, June 5th. I definitely enjoy taking pictures of this event every year. There is really something genuine and powerful in the faces of the runners when they cross the finish line, something raw. I feel a lot of amateur photographers strive to capture great, natural human expressions: this is by no means easy. If it is something you are into, I recommend bringing your ... Continue Reading
