New Show at the Waterford Public Library

The good folks at the Waterford Public Library are offering me the opportunity to show photos from October 14 to November 12, 2010. Library director Timothy McDonough is doing a fantastic job promoting the library and reaching out for new art regularly; I'm thankful for the chance to display my pictures outside Albany. This series of photos is different from the larger “The Unnoticed” collection, on display earlier this year at Uncommon Grounds. A few pieces are still related to ... Continue Reading

“Wish You Were Here” at the NYS Museum

This NYS Museum in Albany features a new exhibit entitled “Not Just Another Pretty Place: The Landscape of New York”. I recommend you check it out. The installation, on display from September 2010  to March 2011, explores the many ways the landscape of New York State has been recorded, romanticized, utilized, and imagined. It presents over 100 landscape scenes from the museum's own collections. One unique aspect of this exhibit is that you can be part of it, in a ... Continue Reading

Schaghticoke Fair

You spin me right round, baby, right round like a rec... OK I'm done now, sorry. A few days ago I drove to the Schaghticoke Fair, armed with my 2.5 tons tripod, a wide angle lens and an appetite for cider donuts. Shiny colors spinning all around just call for long exposure photos, don't they? This is one of these fun little exercises a photographer owes himself to try once, I definitely recommend it, each photo turns out to be ... Continue Reading

“The Unnoticed” — A Collection in Print

I am proud to present my very first photo book, “The Unnoticed”, available now at Blurb.com. I've assembled 110 photos from 10 abandoned locations in this 136-page volume, available in hard cover, soft cover, and ebook format for iPad/iPhone. Just like the show I set up earlier this year at the Albany Uncommon Grounds, putting this book together was an interesting experience that I recommend to any photographer, and I'll share more about this process in this post. ... Victorian Picnic

Victorian Picnic

Sometimes the strangest opportunities manifest themselves when you least expect them. I was taking pictures of the World Naked Bike Ride 2010 last week, patiently waiting for a few brave souls to finish their ride through Washington Park, when I spotted a small group of people across the lawn. I wasn't quite sure at first... were they all in Victorian attires, or did my Flux Capacitor accidentally reach 88 miles per hour? I started taking a few photos from a ... Continue Reading

“The Unnoticed”

I am proud to present my very first photo show, “The Unnoticed”, on display at Uncommon Grounds in Albany, NY for the next 7 weeks. This series of 30 photos was selected from my Urban Exploration collection, a small journey through abandoned memories of Upstate New York that I invite you to share with me. ... Continue Reading
