Albany Zombie Walk 2010

Halloween is around the corner, the Horde is back! Here is another edition of Albany's very own Zombie Walk. The highlight of the Zombie Film Feast 3 took place at the Armory last Saturday, October 23rd, and gathered a dense crowd of Undead on a slow march to The Linda. The whole weekend featured many returning events, such as the Brain Eating contest, the Thriller Dance Off, the Senior Prom and the screening of Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead ... Fire at the Central Warehouse in Albany

The Central Warehouse caught fire, October 22nd, 2010. It upsets me to see this landmark go down in flames. An eyesore for many, this concrete behemoth was the first abandoned building I explored with my own camera, back in March 2009. I brought back eerie pictures and a thirst for more. These photos opened many doors for me. Truth is, I owe a lot of our urban explorations, the show at UG and even the book to my trips to ... Continue Reading

New Show at the Waterford Public Library

The good folks at the Waterford Public Library are offering me the opportunity to show photos from October 14 to November 12, 2010. Library director Timothy McDonough is doing a fantastic job promoting the library and reaching out for new art regularly; I'm thankful for the chance to display my pictures outside Albany. This series of photos is different from the larger “The Unnoticed” collection, on display earlier this year at Uncommon Grounds. A few pieces are still related to ... Continue Reading

The New Deal at Northern Lights

A few photos of The New Deal concert, taken September 23rd at Northern Lights, Clifton Park, NY. I'm a fan of this Canadian electronic band. Formed in 1998, they have visited the Capital District regularly for years, most often at the (now defunct) Revolution Hall in Troy. It is a tad tricky to pinpoint this music genre. Some say electronica, others live progressive breakbeat house, and Wikipedia files them under livetronica, a "jam band movement that blends such musical styles ... Continue Reading

Wolff’s Oktoberfest 2010

Is Wolff's Oktoberfest stomping on LarkFEST? Matt Baumgartner's German love child turned one last Saturday and boy did he get much much bigger. The 2009 edition was a success but I guesstimated at least 3 times more people showed up this year to engulf a record-breaking amount of beer and sausage. Best of all, everybody seem pretty well behaved, I saw more obnoxious drunks the week before on Lark. Victim of its success, the event experienced a few issues to ... Continue Reading
